16. Create a simplicity statement. What do you want your simple life to look like? Write it out.
Good Question. Hmmm….
I guess I can say what I’d like to retain after my first wave of Simplifying, because I’m not quite sure how much further I will continue to Simplify farther on down the line.
Things I plan to hang on to (for now):
-Laptop (contains all my pictures, music, and papers for school and work… also used for communication)
-phone (work use mainly and communication)
-books (there are still many books I look over time and time again/many books I haven’t read yet, also I consider my library a communal library)
-bike (much more eco-friendly and healthy)
-Truck (for going to and from work/visiting friends that live elsewhere)
-A few pieces of furniture (bed for sleeping, couches for community, and bookshelves for books)
That is about it… I think. There may be some other little things, but I think my simplicity statement could be summed up in this way:
“Get rid of what is unnecessary, unless it is beneficial in my relationships.”
Any questions? Advice?
